A celebration of life for Leona M. Boller, 88 of Kalona will be held Friday, October 14, 2011 at 10:30AM at the East Union Mennonite Church with Pastor Jay Miiller officiating.  Burial will follow at the East Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 3-7PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home.  Leona Boller died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the Pleasantview Home following a decline in health.

Leona Mae (Gingerich) Boller was born October 3, 1923 in rural Kalona, the daughter of Joseph P. and Lula (Stutzman) Gingerich.  She attended Evergreen School and on January 28, 1945 she was united in marriage to Martin Boller at her family’s home.  Leona was a homemaker and a member of the East Union Mennonite Church.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, James (Ruth) Boller of Kalona, Arnold Boller of Cedar Falls, Emma Lou Miller of Central City, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Delmar (Betty) Gingerich of McGregor, and Don (Ellen) Gingerich of Stover, Missouri.

Preceding Leona in death were her parents, her husband Martin on February 12, 2010, four sisters, Edna Dolan, Vesta Miller, Marietta Yoder and Marge Gingerich, and one brother, Paul Gingerich.
