Janeth G. Peterseim Janeth G. (Holden) Peterseim has been involved in the funeral business since Short and she purchased the home in 1963. A member of the Kalona United Methodist Church and the Lioness Club, Jan also serves as secretary of the board for the Area Chamber of Commerce. Jan has been very active in developing and promoting Kalona attractions, including organizing the Kalona booth at the State Fair for the last 18 years. Jan is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time with her grandchildren, Sydney and Warren. |

Meg A. Nagel Meg A. Nagel is the daughter of Jan Peterseim and the late Short Peterseim and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1994. Meg is a member of the Kalona United Methodist Church, The Rotary Club of Kalona, the Area Chamber of Commerce, the Iowa Funeral Director’s Association and the National Funeral Director’s Association. She is married to Gregg Nagel and has two children, Sydney Ann and Warren Harold Scarff. Her interests include teaching aerobics, playing the piano, and reading. |
| Mark A. Beatty Mark A. Beatty is a 1983 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and a 1985 graduate of Southeastern Community College. He attended Carl’s Sandburg College of Mortuary Science in Galesburg, Illinois and graduated with high honors in May of 1999. He served his internship at the Schultz Funeral Home in DeWitt, Iowa. He is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Washington, Iowa Funeral Director Association, Illinois Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Funeral Ethics Association, Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice, Washington Ambassadors and Morning Optimists Club. He enjoys family, computers, bicycling and antique tractors. He resides in Washington with his wife Susan, the former Susan Zwicki, and three daughters Ashley, Alaina, and Alijah. |
