Clarence E. Lewis, 81 of Wayland, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Independent Bible Church in Wayland with Pastor Robert Wolf officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church with family present from 5-7:00 PM. Beatty Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials in the name of Clarence E. Lewis may be disignated to the Wayland First Responders or the Independent Bible Church.

Clarence was born May 17, 1930 in Keota, IA the son of Everett and Wilma (Carter) Lewis. He was united in marriage to Dolores Mae Meyer on November 25, 1970 in the Quad Cities.

He was a member of the Independent Bible Church and was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal, REC at the Amana Society for 15 years and owned and operated CE Lewis Electric for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching old western movies.

Survivors include his wife Dolores of Wayland, children, Mike Lewis of Wayland, Ola Williams (Jim L.) of Wayland, Leslie, Clifford Lewis of MO, Sheri of Galesburg, IL, Brian Lewis of IL, Lisa of IL, David Walters of Tolun, IL, Kathy Martin of Texarcan, AR, Steven Walters of Brighton, IA and Sharon De Lay of Crawfordsville, IA; 24 grandchildren and 10+ great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Janice and a still born daughter.

We are so sorry for your lost. Clarence was a good person, he did our electric when we moved to the area. And when he was out driving around, he would stop and visit with us. We will miss him.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Clarence's passing. He will be dearly missed. We can have comfort knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior. Wonderful picture of him, that is exactly how I remember him.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the Lewis Family during the hard days ahead. Clarence knew everybody. Also had time for a chat no matter how busy he was. Clarence will be missed by family and friends. God Bless- JOHN, Rachael, Craig, Sharon, Carson, John, Graig, Lisa and Christopher.
