Dennis Stransky

A memorial celebration of life for Dennis J. Stransky, 56 of Sacramento, CA, formerly of Kalona, will be held Monday, July 28, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Pastor Gerry Kahler officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. The famly will greet friends one hour prior to the service from noon – 1:00 PM. Dennis died Thursday, July 3, 2014 after a battle with cancer.
Dennis James Stransky was born October 15, 1957 the son of Allan and Edith (Britton) Stransky. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1976 and from Kirkwood Community College in 1981. Dennis moved to San Jose, CA in 1982 and trained to be a Nursing Assistant and worked at a convent nursing home. In 1987 he moved to Sacramento and made his home there until his death. He was a past President, Treasurer and Secretary for the Bishop Francis A. Quinn Cottages until failing health no longer permitted. Dennis was an active member at the Centennial Methodist Church. He loved children and helped with vacation Bible school and was head usher.
Survivors include his mother, Edith Stransky of Kalona, one brother, Terry Stransky of Kalona, a niece, Abby Stransky and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Preceding Dennis in death was his father, Allan in 2008 and his grandparents.
