Don Erlenbush

A graveside service of inunrment with military rites for Don Erlenbush, 63, of Washington, will be held Friday, September 2, 2016 at 3:30 pm at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.  Chaplain Robert Beghtol will officiate.  Visitation will be held from noon until 3 pm at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington.  The Patriot Guard motorcyle group will lead the procession to the cemetery at the conclusion of visitation and all friends with motorcycles are welcome to join.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Don Erlenbush died Sunday, August, 28, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Iowa City.

Donald Eugene Erlenbush was born August 18, 1953 in Washington County, the son of Ralph and Dora Mae (Riekedberg) Erlenbush.  He attended Washington High School and served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1974.  He worked in various jobs throughout his life including; construction worker, feed mill worker and truck driver. He was employed by the City of Washington for 15 years.  Don was united in marriage to Myrna Fischer on May 25, 1990 in Washington.  He was a member of the motorcycle group ABATE of Iowa, District 14 and enjoyed motorcyles and his dogs Bubba and Maggie May.

Survivors include his wife Myrna of Washington, brother John Erlenbush of Ainsworth, sister Kathy (Lee) Johnson of Keller, TX, niece Christie (Josh) Sands, nephews: Thad and Tyler Johnson, mother-in-law Rose Fischer, sisters-in-law: Mary (Joe) Schmidt, Carol (Keith) Pins, Barb (Bob) Quint, Dianne (Russ) Reth, brothers-in-law: Dave (Joan) Fischer, Al (Sue) Fischer, Eugene Fischer and many nieces and nephews on Myrna's side.

Preceding Don in death were his parents and a sister-in-law Margene Erlenbush.
