Eldon G. Ropp was born February 21, 1932 in Kalona, IA the son of George C. and Fannie (Miller) Ropp.
In his youth he accepted Christ and was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and remained a faithful member until his death.
On November 25, 1954 he was un8ted in marriage to Anna Borkholder. After Anna's death in 1987 he married Mattie (Miller ) Schwartz on January 19, 1992 in Hazelton.
Eldon passed away on Wednesday December 7, 2011 at the Mercy Hospital at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 16 days.
Eldon is survived by eight children, Catherine Ropp, Elson (Arlene) Ropp of Kalona, Margaret (Martin) Yoder of Nappanee, IN; Delores (Jacob) Schwartz of Bremen, IN; Sanford Ropp of Goshen, IN; Rebecca Ropp of Nappanee, IN; Ira (JoAnn) Ropp of Milford, IN; Inez Ropp of Nappanee, IN; nine stepchildren Anna (Mervin) Mast of Bremen, IN; Rosella (Henry) Wagler of De Graff, OH; Jacob U. (Delores) Schwartz of Bremen, IN; Susan (Eli) Schwartz of Hamilton, IN; Katie (Merlin) Hochstedler of Nappanee, IN; Mary (Wilmer) Schwartz of Hamilton, IN; Joseph (Florence) Schwartz of Bronson, MI; Rudy (Polly) Schwartz of Chouteau, OK; Edna (Perry) Borntrager of Etna Green, IN; 17 grandchildren, six great grand children, 52 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Edwin Ropp, Wilbur Ropp and Norman Ropp and two sisters, Mary and Lydia Ropp.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Anna and his second wife Mattie, a stillborn granddaughter, a step son-in-law, Merlin Hochstedler, a step daughter-in-law, Clara Schwartz and tow brothers, Henry and Lloyd Ropp.
