Everett Hauenstein

Everett Hauenstein, 86 of Wayland passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Bob Spilger officiating. Burial will be in the Eicher Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 13, 2015 1-7:00 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family present from 5-7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has established memorials for the Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church or the WACO Youth Athletic Association.

Everett was born January 23, 1929 in Wayland, Iowa the son of Willard and Ethel (Speidel) Hauenstein. Everett married Velda Sinn on March 11, 1950. They raised 5 children together and lived in the Olds and Wayland area for over 35 years. After Velda passed away in 1987 he married Doris (Nebel) Sinn on March 6, 1989. Together they shared 10 children, 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Most of Everett's working years were spent at Good Year in Mt. Pleasant until he retired in 1991. One of Everett's passions was attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sporting events. He liked traveling, camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed riding his scooter and doing wood crafting.

He attended the Fern Cliff Evangelical Free Church.

Everett is survived by his wife Doris Sinn-Hauenstein of Wayland; children, Peg (Dave) Clark of Fairfield, Robert (Deanna) Hauenstein of Mediapolis, Mary (Donnie) Floyd of Vinemont, Alabama, Linda Roth of Wayland,  and Patty (Larry) Escher of Winfield. Step-children Cindy Carroll , Bryan Sinn, both of Wayland, Bruce (Vicki) Sinn of Lochbuie, Colorado, Chris (Dwain) Alvine and Bobbi (Marvin) Stauffer, both of Wayland; sisters, Donna (Paul) Rebling of Wayland and Joyce Kisner of Granbury, Texas.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Ruby, his first wife Velda, granddaughter Hannah Floyd, great-grandson Chylan Sinn and son-in-law Milan Roth.
