Ida Yoder

Funeral services for Ida Yoder, 68, of rural Iowa City will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 9:30 AM at the Herman Yoder residence; 2456 480th Street, SW, Iowa City.  Burial will follow at the North Gingerich Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the Herman Yoder residence on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 2 – 8 PM and all day Friday, July 4.  Ida Yoder died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her home in rural Iowa City.

Ida (Yoder) Yoder was born  August 11, 1945 in Mayes County, OK, the daughter of Melvin N. and Edna (Miller) Yoder.  She was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church in her youth and remained a faithful member until her death.  She was united in marriage to Herman Yoder on October 22, 1970 in Mayes County, OK.

Survivors include her husband, Herman, of Iowa City, six children and spouses: Heidi (David) Stutzman of Iowa City, Lori (Jacob) Stutzman of Iowa City, Tobias J. (Louise) Yoder of Kalona, Sara (Samuel) Bender of Lockridge, Claire (Glenn) Mast of Iowa City, Ida Ruth (Freeman) Miller of Kalona, 41 grandchildren, her father, Melvin Yoder of Mayes County, OK, and four siblings: Nelson Yoder, Levi (Cora) Yoder, Sara (Orie) Detweiler and Alva (Susan) Yoder all of Mayes County, OK.

Preceding Ida in death were her mother, Edna Yoder and one sister in law, Ida (Mrs. Nelson) Yoder.
