Janice Darby

January 18, 1952 — August 6, 2021

Janice L. Darby, 69, of Coralville died Friday, August 6, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Her body was cremated, a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  A memorial fund for Alzheimer’s Research has been established in Janice’s name and donations may be sent to the Peterseim Funeral Home: PO Box 81, Kalona, Iowa, 52247.

Janice Louise Darby was born January 18, 1952, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Willard and Bernice (Venzke) Darby. She graduated from Highland High School and Mt. Mercy College as an LPN. She furthered her education at the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Administration. Janice was a Sr. Budget Analyst for the City and County of San Francisco for many years. On September 3, 2004, she was united in marriage to Jon Rentfro. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, cooking, and collecting Santa’s.

Survivors include her husband Jon of Coralville; two brothers: Harold (Sandy) Stout of Richardson, Texas, Dale (Nancy) Stout of Cedar Rapids; eight nieces and nephews: Jamie Stout, Molly Tschopp, Jeff Stout, Joe Stout, Kathryn, Brian, and Eric Stout and Diane Stout; two God-daughters: Shelby Waldschmidt and Jackie Fogerty; and a good friend Pat Ort-Poore of Columbus City, Iowa.

Preceding Janice in death were her parents.
