Keith Young

A celebration of life for Keith E. Young, 76, of Washington, will be held Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11:00AM at the Church of Jesus Christ LDS in Washington. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday from 9-11AM at the Church. A general memorial fund has been established. Keith Young died Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Washington Care Center.

Keith Earl Young was born September 18, 1934 in Ainsworth, Iowa the son of Elmer and Faith (Palmer) Young. He was united in marriage to Patricia L. Kollosick on April 30, 1960 in Fairfield, Iowa. Keith worked as a carpenter and owned Young’s Construction for several years. He enjoyed working with his hands and animals.

Survivors include two sons, David and Mark Young of Washington, six grandchildren, Amanda Young of New London, Bradley Young of Washington, Elizabeth Johnson of Iowa City, Markus Young of Washington, Michael Lindly and Brandon Young of Washington, two brothers, Kenneth “Brig” and wife Coleen Young of Washington, Jim and wife Lorene Young of Iowa City, four sisters, Charlotte Lemley of Libertyville, Sylvia Miller of Kalona, Patty Ann Carson of Chariton, and Viola Karr of Wayland.

Preceding Keith in death were his parents, wife Patricia, two brothers, Eugene and Arlo Young, and three sisters, Neala Gonterman, Sandra Young and Wanda Brereton.
