Leroy Welcher

Leroy Welcher, 89, of Washington died Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Pearl Valley Rehabilitation Center in Washington. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Leroy Welcher was born March 1, 1928 in rural Wellman, Iowa, the son of Lester and Lillian (Carnfix) Welcher. He lived at Orchard Hill most of his adult life, and since 2006 he had resided at the Pearl Center Rehabilitation Center. Leroy enjoyed attending Camp REECE every summer, reading the newspaper, waiting for the mail to arrive and spending time with his favorite stuffed pal “Pooch”. He was known as a jokester. Preceding Leroy in death were his parents and two brothers: Robert and James Welcher.
