Louise Fleming Longwell Kauffman was born Febuary 25, 1914 in Mason City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lewis and Laura Fleming Longwell, the youngest of four children. The family moved to Washington, Iowa when she was one year old and she graudated from Washington High School in 1933.
She was united in marriage to Harold Kauffman in 1935 and moved to Wayland. Six children who survive her were born to this union; Jean Roth of Wayland, Joyce Wagler and husband Edwin of Wayland, Janice Widmer and husband Chris of Leawood, Kansas, Judy Roberts of Iowa City, Iowa, Joe Kauffman and wife Laurie of Wayalnd, Iowa and John Kauffman of Olathe, Kansas. She was a grandparent to 18 granchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Louise was a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church. She was a dedicated mother and home maker who nurtured her children with Christian values. She was a fifty year member of both Eastern Star and TTT. She was an animal lover and enjoyed the years she and Harold raised Yorkshire Pups.
Louise joined the Parkview Home family in 2000 and was loved by the staff and residents.
Preceding Louise in death were her husand in 2001, her parents, one sister, Jean Lang, two brothers, Frank Longwell and Charles Longwell, a son in law, Ron Roth, a grandson, Phillip Wagler, and infant grandson, Chad Roberts, and an infant great grandson, Alexander Krieg.
Just wanted to tell you all what a pleasure it was to take your Mom to many appointments and I will always remember the lunch at Village Inn. Louise was a wonderful lady and a day with her always lit up my life, she was always so interested in my kids and family as I was in hers. She was my connection to Wayland while I could drive. May God bless you all in the days ahead, love Dixie & Richard Young
