Lucille Schantz

Lucille M. Schantz died Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the Parkview Home in Wayland. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 2:30PM at Center Cemetery in rural Wayland. A memorial service will follow at 3:30PM at the Wayland Methodist Church, with Joan Rodgers officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the Parkview Home in Wayland.

Mrs. Schantz was born September 5, 1919 south of Wayland, the daughter of Harris and Evalena Reschly Boese. She married W. E. (Bud) Schantz on December 18, 1947 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua, Iowa. She was a homemaker and an outdoor person and helper to her husband. She was a member of the Wayland Methodist Church, of which she was Sunday School Secretary and project chairman for many years. She quilted over 200 quilts. She loved old Gospel music and singing.

Survivors include her sister in law, Edith Boese of Kalona and nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lucille in death were her parents, her husband, Bud, an infant sister, Helen May, two brothers, Orie and Harold Boese, and two sister in laws, Dorothy Boese and Mary Schantz Wright.
