So sorry to hear of Marie's death. She was a wonderful, warm and interesting human being. She taught me, from an early age, what the word neighbor exemplified.I never needed it, but always knew her house would be a safe haven. To her family, I extend my sincere sympathy for your loss.Lois Dalton

We were lucky to have known Marie. When we would come to Iowa for Meyer celebrations, Marie would open up her home for us. Since there are a lot of Meyer's extra sleeping space was needed. Marie welcomed us and provided a bed and breakfast. She made special treats for us and we enjoyed our conversations. She was a special friend and neighbor and will be missed.

I knew Elaine Buchwalter from Iowa City Womans Club and Marie from the dances at the Eagle Lodge. Oh how she and Hubert danced.I lost my husband too.I did not know had moved from down off or by sycamore street in Iowa City.I know there will be dancing in Heaven and someday we will all be together again...
