Memorial celebration of life services for E. Marie Williams, 95 of Wellman, IA are 7:30 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at the Kalona United Methodist Church, Kalona. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until service time on Wednesday. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Monmouth Cemetery, Monmouth, IA. at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013.
Marie Williams died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City following a brief illness.
E. Marie Williams was born March 22, 1918 in Monmouth, IA, the daughter of Lee and Aletha Allen. She was united in marriage to Kent H. Williams April 12, 1941 in Monmouth.
Marie was a member of the Kalona United Methodist Church and Brighton Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. Marie was very active in the Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and folded the bulletins every week. She enjoyed spending time at the senior center in Iowa City where she participated in a variety of activities.
Survivors are nieces and nephews including Carol Hunt of Pleasant Valley, IA. Her extended family was special to her and is Benny and Nancy Yoder of Kalona, and their entire family.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kent and four brothers.
A memorial fund for the Kalona United Methodist choir has been established.
