I have been a neighbor of Mattie's for many years. She was the sweetest lady; always with a smile and ready for a visit.

Dear Swantz Famly,I'm sorry for your loss of sweet Mattie. I have many memories that go back to childhood, Boone School, and later when your parents and mine would socialize. Their friendship goes back 70+ years, and more, as our dads were neighbors growing up. After I moved away, occasionally I would see them around the community, or a few times, when I was at home, in Iowa, they would stop by the parents. But in these last years at Pleasantview, Mom and I would play dominos with her, or visit Mattie's room, and admire her stitching, and her sunny window. I treasured these times, and came to appreciate her positive attitude on life. Mom and surely miss her when the restrictions are lifted. I'm so thankful that your mother came to visit mom in her room, about a month ago. It was a sweet surprise, that mom talked about; the only visitor mom has had in her room for nearly year. May your memories bring peace and comfort.
