Rita Wimberly

Rita Kay (Snyder) Wimberly, 53 of Kalona died Friday, October 18, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital following a battle with cancer.  There are no services planned at this time.  A general memorial fund has been established.  The Peterseim Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Rita Kay (Snyder) Wimberly was born October 11, 1960 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Amy Arlene (Brenneman) Snyder. She graduated from Mid Prairie High School in 1979.  On December 4, 1983 she was united in marriage to Richard Charles (R.C.) Wimberly, Jr. in Bakersfield, California.  Rita was a legal secretary and worked for a variety of law firms.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, boating and watching football with her boys.

Survivors include her husband; R.C. Wimberly, Jr, of Kalona, two sons; Christopher and Colton Wimberly of Kalona, her father; John Snyder of Kalona, two brothers; Steve (Stephanie) Snyder of Kalona, Dan (Gina) Snyder of Riverside, and six nieces and nephews.

Preceding Rita in death was her mother; Arlene Snyder.
