I just found out today, Oct. 5th when I tried calling Ron and a woman answered his cell number.I thought it was very strange and I searched the obituaries after arriving back home.I am so terribly sorry for this loss to your family.I have considered Ron a dear friend for several years as he has been the only trucker to haul my large round bales of hay.I will miss him greatly.

I would like to express my sincere condolences to Darlene and other family members from myself, my wife Pam, and the Miller Hybrids team.Ron was a loyal customer and friend. He always had time to talk or listen and carried a smile easily. He was a good farmer and hard worker. His untimely death is hard to understand and reminds us of the need to make each day count as Ronnie tried to do. Sincerely, Bob Miller

The Gingerich and Bender families, my thoughts are prayers are with you.I just read this poem on a friend's Facebook page, that she posted in honor of her dad passing. It made me think of Ron for some reason. It is "Close the Gate" by Nancy Kraayenhof.I hope you find comfort in it: For this one farmer the worries are over, lie down and rest your head, Your time has been and struggles enough, put the tractor in the shed. Years were not easy, many downright hard, but your faith in God transcended, Put away your tools and sleep in peace. The fences have all been mended. You raised a fine family, worked the land well and always followed the Son, Hang up your shovel inside of the barn; your work here on earth is done. A faith few possess led your journey through life, often a jagged and stony way, The sun is setting, the cattle are all bedded, and here now is the end of your day. Your love of Gods soil has passed on to your kin; the stories flow like fine wine, Wash off your work boots in the puddle left by blessed rain one final time. You always believed that the good Lord would provide and He always had somehow, Take off your gloves and put them down, no more sweat and worry for you now. Your labor is done, your home now is heaven; no more must you wait, Your legacy lives on, your love of the land, and we will close the gate.
