Sondra Sue (White) Preston was born May 20, 1937 in Iowa City, IA, the daughter of James "Jordan" and Oramae (Schwietert) White. She attended St. Patrick's Elementary School in Iowa City, attended Iowa City High and graduated from Franklin Senior High in Cedar Rapids in 1955. In 1956 she married Charles Netolicky, they had four children and later divorced. Sue was united in marriage to Phillip Preston in 1993 in Cedar Rapids. She was employed as a clerk at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids until her retirement in 1996. Sue began singing and playing the piano as a little girl and developed a lifelong love of music, which she shared with residents at nursing homes for many years. She was always active volunteering as a den mother for Cub Scouts, a member of parent teacher organizations, and was involved in many church activities. Sue enjoyed the outdoors, boating and camping with family, and singing in the Rockwell Chorus. Second only to her love of Jesus, was her love for her family and friends. Sue possessed a spirit of joy in her heart that was always evident from the smile on her face.
Survivors include four children: Jerry (Cindy) Netolicky of Thornton, CO, Scott (Kris) Netolicky of Washington, IA, Diane (Chuck) Hensley of Clive, IA, Tom (Sara) Netolicky of Iowa City, IA, 13 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one brother Jerry (Terry) White of Milwaukee, WI.
Preceding Sue in death were her parents, husband Phillip on June 15, 2015, and an infant daugther, Ann Marie.
I want to express my sincere sympathy for the loss of your loved one and share the hope promised in the Bible. The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it. (Psalms 37:29)
