Arden Dale Wehmanen, 86 of Ainsworth, IA, died Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at his home following a short illness.

His body has been cremated, and no services are planned. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home in assisting with arrangements.

Arden was born January 12, 1940, in Duluth, MN, the son of Ilmari John and Aili Fatilda (Lehti) Wehmanen. He was united in marriage to Sandy Williams in Duluth, MN in 1994.

He was employed as a journeyman electrician early in his career, later working as a proud Teamsters’ Union bus driver for thirty-one and a half years for the City of Duluth, retiring in 2001. Following retirement, he moved to Arizona for five years, Idaho for ten years, and in 2016, moved to Ainsworth to be close to family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding, and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy of Ainsworth, children, Jeffrey Wehmanen, Joseph Wehmanen, both of MN, Scott Goodno, and Faunne Mc Cracken, both of Iowa City; two sisters, Arlysse Mc Grath of AZ and Goria Holappa of MN, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents, six brothers, and three sisters.
