Betty Reisener

Betty Jean Reisener, 75 of Washington, died Friday, December 20, 2002 at Halcyon House in Washington.

Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 23, 2002 at the United Methodist Church in Washington with Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday Noon till 6:00 P.M. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 2-4:00 P.M. in the afternoon. Memorials may be given in the name of Betty Jean Reisener to the Washington Humane Society and the United Methodist Church.

Jean was born November 18, 1927 in Moline, Illinois the daughter of Albert and Clella (Welsch) Thompson. On April 3, 1949 she was united in marriage to Ralph Leonard Reisener at the Columbus Junction Methodist Church.

She graduated from Columbus Junction High School and attended St. Francis School of Nursing. Jean was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church and served in many capacities. She was a teachers-aid for twenty years in the school system.

Survivors include her husband Ralph of Washington, one son James “Jim” Reisener and wife Colleen of Indianola, IA; three daughters, Patricia Reisener and husband John Maxwell of Donahue, IA, Barbara Willman and husband Randy of Albuquerque, NM and Karen Vaughn and husband Doug of Kernersville, NC; one sister Mary Young of Burlington, IA; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant brother Edward John.
