Billy LeRoy Hartman, 79 of Washington, died, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at his home in Washington.

Graveside services have been set for 11:00 AM Saturday, October, 17, 2015 at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, IA with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. His body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Washington County Hospice or the United Church of Crawfordsville. Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home in Washington is assisting with arrangements.

Billy was born February 12, 1936 in rural Mediapolis, IA the son of Cecil and Laura (Gregory) Hartman. On May 31, 1957 he married Carolyn Sue Robertson in Morning Sun, IA. She passed away on November 10, 1990. He married Joanne (Maddux) Wilkerson on November 20, 1992 at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

Mr. Hartman grew up in Morning Sun, IA and graduated from MSHS. He worked in Burlington, IA for Advance Ross Electronics for 15 years and retired from Delzell Motor Co. After 30 years as parts manager.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, coffee at Mc Donalds at 5:30 AM and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Survivors include his wife Joanne of Washington; children Jeff Hartman and wife Cammie of Muscatine, Chad Hartman and wife Crystal of Wapello, Tamara Wagner and husband Tom of Mediapolis, Linda Renken and husband Bob of Kansas, Jeffrey Wilkerson and wife Teri of Morning Sun, Rhonda Miller of Washington, James Wilkerson and wife Deb of Winfield, Ed Wilkerson and wife Kerry of Morning Sun and Rita Wilkerson of Winfield; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Jim Clarence and Leo, 2 sisters Doris and JaNann and grandson Jeremy Wagner.
