Brian Jeremiah Carroll

Brian Jeremiah Carroll, 73, passed away on January 20 in Kalona, Iowa.

Born in Chicago Heights, Illinois, in 1952 to Edward and Kathryn (née Abrams) Carroll, Brian spent his early childhood in the Edison Park neighborhood on Chicago’s Northwest Side. He attended St. Juliana Grade School, graduating in 1966, and later Naperville Central High School, Class of 1970. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Iowa in 1976.

Brian built a respected career as an expert and consultant in Lean Manufacturing (ERP). He was the author of two books on the subject. His work reflected both his sharp intellect and his commitment to helping organizations improve and thrive.

Those who knew Brian will remember his unique and acerbic humor, his love of a well‑told story, and the generosity he extended freely. He was a devoted Chicago sports fan and had a deep appreciation for music—especially early heavy metal that formed the soundtrack of his youth.

Brian is survived by Barbara G. Carroll former wife of 38 years, his siblings Jeffrey, Mary, David, and Katie, and many nieces and nephews.
