Russell Crone, 50 of San Francisco, CA, formally of Washington, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Ben Blanchard officiating. His body has been cremated and interment will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 3-5:00 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home. A memorial in the name of Russell Crone has been established to Paws and More and the Washington United Methodist Church.
Carl Russell Crone was born March 20, 1965 in Washington, Iowa the son of Charles J. "Tod" and Cheryl (Cook) Crone. He graduated from Washington High School in 1983 and received his Bachelors Degree in French from Central College. He also attended school in Sweden to study sustainability.
For 5 years, Russ worked as a flight attendant for American Trans Air. He also worked as a recruiter for a biotec company as well as companies in the medical field. He was a people-person, very politically minded, concerned with eviromental problems. He loved nature.
Survivors include his parents, Charles (Tod) and Cheryl Crone of Washington; sister Kelly Hearn and husband Gibson, niece Kristen, nephew Todd, all of Farmington, NH, one aunt, one uncle and wife, and a number of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, one uncle and one cousin.
