Charles R. “Chuck” Trimpe, 74, of rural Kalona, passed from this life on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at his home from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. His body will be cremated, and a service will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The family will greet friends from 9:30 until 10:30 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for Hospice of Washington County has been established.

Charles Ray Trimpe was born April 20, 1951, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Ray and Eloise (Hellwege) Trimpe. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1969 and received a bachelor’s degree in business from Iowa State University in 1973. On March 31, 1978, he was united in marriage to Sandra Reimard in Ashland, Virginia. Chuck worked as a shop foreman at Yoder Feeds in Frytown and CRST in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City. He enjoyed wintering in Alamo, Texas, gardening, camping, hiking, traveling and attending his grandchildren’s events.

Survivors include his wife Sandie of Kalona, two sons: Jason (Heather) Trimpe of Wellman, Michael (Kelli) Trimpe of Kalona, and five grandchildren: Ethan, Owen, Cassie, Claire and Shelbie Trimpe.

Preceding Chuck in death were his parents.
