Charles "Chick" Miller

Charles F. "Chick" Miller, 92 of Washington, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at All-American of Washington following declining health.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Dean Elmore officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13 from noon until 6 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 4-6 PM. A general memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.

Charles was born September 11, 1920 in Washington, Iowa the son of Frank and Nellie (Putman) Miller. He attended the Red Brick School and was united in marriage to Elzina Hanson on November 23, 1955 they later divorced. He was united in marriage to Frances Ellen (Bentley) Carbee on November 30, 1985 in Marion, Iowa. Charles was a farmer and part time auctioneer and retired in 1980. He enjoyed antique tractors and spent many years at Old Threshers and the Kahoka Mule Festival.

Survivors include his wife Frances of Washington, children; Frank (Deb) Miller of Washington, Dennis (Nora) Miller of Belle Plaine, IA, Nelda (Pete) Rouse of Marion, IA, Janet Sterling and special friend Jimmy Renfro of Wayland, IA, Marlys (Art) Lauf of Cedar Rapids, IA, Alvin Mastain of Indiapolis, IN and Gordon Michael (Mary Obereuter) Mastain of Marion, IA, 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister Addie, step-daughter in law; Kathy and two step-sons; Richard Mastain and Charles Hanson.
