Celebration of life services for Charlotte Winborn, 97, of Kalona, IA will be Monday , August 29,2016 at 10:00 am at the East Union Mennonite Church, rural Kalona.
Burial will be in the East Union Cemetery.
Pastor Joel Beachy will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, August 28 from 4-7 pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona. Charlotte Winborn died Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Pleasantview Home, Kalona. A memorial fund for the East Union Cemetery has been established.
Charlotte Miller Winborn was born June 26, 1919, the daughter of Cephus and Nancy(Wertz) Miller near Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Center High School. She was united in marriage with Milton Jay Winborn on Juy 20, 1939. The couple lived on their family farm until after Milton’s death.
Charlotte was a member of East Union Mennonite Church, and a former member of Kalona Lioness Club, and Red Hat Club. She enjoyed reading, music, working outdoors and yodeling.
Surviving Charlotte are her children; Margaret Rose Hjelmstad of Manchester, PA, Jon Allen and wife Mary Jo Winborn of Mt. Wolf, PA, Mae Arceneaux of Marshalltown, Robert and wife Dorothea Moberly of Wellman and Ralph Moberly of Beaverton, Oregon. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Jason Winborn, Doug Moberly, Erik Moberly, Michael Hjelmstad, Bob Arceneaux, Cathann Kress, Lisa Schmidt, Leigh-Ann Horne and eleven great-grandchildren; Nile Kress, Paydon Kress, Wren Kress, Jacob Moberly, Connor Moberly, Aimee Moberly, Evan Moberly, Coleman Winborn, Ryan Winborn, Brandon Horne, Addison Horne, and Jamie Hjelmstad . A sister-in-law Henrietta Miller of Iowa City also survives.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Milton(1992), and brothers, Sam Miller and Wilbur Miller.
