Cory D Jones

Cory D. Jones, “Jonesy”, 56, formerly of Wayland, passed from this life on Sunday, October 11, 2026. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook and YouTube pages. Burial will follow at the Cambrian Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7 PM, Monday, October 19, 2026, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A memorial fund has been established for his children.

Cory Duane Jones was born November 27, 1969, the son of James Allen and Edith Marlene (Wade) Jones. On September 23, 2017, he was united in marriage to Jami Kauffman in Ainsworth, Iowa. The couple later divorced. He was most recently employed with a trucking firm in Ottumwa, Iowa, but spent most of his career hauling livestock. Cory was a simple man who enjoyed riding his Harley, blaring his heavy metal music. He also enjoyed watching game shows, especially The Price Is Right, drinking his Mountain Dew, and going out to “burn a wheel”.

Survivors include his four children: Brooklin, Vincent, Preston and Ellasyn, his sister Trudy Brown, nieces and cousins.

Preceding Cory in death were his parents.
