Dale Schrock
November 17, 1939 — September 24, 2014
A celebration of life for Dale E. Schrock, 74, of rural Parnell will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 10:30 AM at West Union Mennonite Church with Pastors Eldon Yoder, Corey Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the West Union Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 from 4 – 7 PM at West Union Mennonite Church. A memorial fund for Hospice of Washington County has been established. Dale Schrock died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home following complications of a stroke.
Dale Eugune Schrock was born November 17, 1939 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Cleland F. And Rose Mary (Yoder) Schrock Bender. He graduated from Iowa Mennonite School. Dale was a truck driver and had served as mayor of Parnell for eight years. He enjoyed driving and fixing his truck, overhauling diesel engines and ceramics. Dale was a member of the NRA.
Surivors include his significant other, Jane Tanner of Parnell, four children: Brenda (Steve) Heasley of Xenia, OH, Lisa (Roger) Smith of Houston, TX, Michael (Heidi) Schrock of Centraville, MD, Steve Schrock of Lawrence, KS, nine grandchildren, two great grand daughters, three brothers: Delbert (Linda) Schrock of Bristol, IN, Elwood (Sally) Schrock of Williamsburg, IA, Cliff (Phyllis) Schrock of Wellmna, IA, and two sisters: Marlene (Paul) Ropp of Sarasota, FL, and Ruby (Ezra) Miller of Hutchinson, KS.
Preceding Dale in death were his parents and one grandson.
