Dale F. Troyer, 70, of Kalona, passed from this life on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at his home following a two-year battle with cancer. Per his wishes, his body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Department at the University of Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for Cancer Research. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Dale Franklin Troyer was born January 18, 1955, in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Raymon and Ethel (Yoder) Troyer. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School and attended Hesston College for two years, where he played on the baseball team. Dale farmed all his life, planting crops, raising and helping his kids exhibit livestock. He also worked at the Kalona Sales Barn for six years. He loved spending time with his grandkids and being on the farm. Dale also loved good conversation and always had time to chat.
Survivors include three children: Abe (Maddie) Troyer, Emma Troyer, and Max Troyer; two grandsons: Cooper and Creighton; partner Traci DeVault; three siblings: Janet Keim, David (and Donna) Troyer, and Gilbert (and Sue) Troyer; sister-in-law Louise Troyer, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dale in death were his parents, his brother Gene, and brother-in-law Phillip J. Keim.
