Danny Gill

A celebration of life for Danny Gill, 66 of East Pleasant Plain, IA, will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Daryl Carr officiating.  Burial will follow at the Pleasant Plain Cemetery in Brighton.  Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, from 4 – 6:30 PM  at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Danny Gill died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the Crestridge Nursing Home in Maquoketa.

Danny R. Gill was born January 24, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the son of Harry and Edna Roberts.  He  was married to Mary Ann Smith Gill.  Danny worked at the Crane Company in Washington for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, collecting pop cans, walking and playing with the grandkids.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann of Washington, four step children; Sue Ann Smith of Washington, Frances (Willie) Williams of Washington, Roger Smith of Brighton, Helen Smith of Washington, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, four sisters; Bert (Ben) Turner of Washington, Kaye (Jerry) Blanchard of Oskaloosa, Arlene (Tim) Hauser of Washington, Vickie (Kit) Taylor of Louisianna, and four brothers; Ron Roberts of Brighton, John (Tammy) Roberts of Okalahoma, Gary Roberts of Brighton, and Terry (Sheryl) Roberts of Indiana.

Preceding Danny in death were his parents, one step daughter; Peggy Young, one brother; Ralph Roberts, two sisters; Charlene Roberts and Jo Howell, two step brothers; Bob and Don Ritz, one nephew; Nelson Howell, and one great grandson; Dylan Martin.
