David J. Teets, 83, of Williamsburg, formerly of Kalona, passed from this life on Monday, August 10, 2026, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg. His funeral service will be held Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:30 AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook and YouTube pages. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. The family will greet friends on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 5 - 8 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A general memorial fund has been established.

David John Teets was born June 21, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, the son of Donald and Dorothy (Blum) Teets. He was in the first class to graduate from Mid-Prairie High School in 1961. On June 29, 1963, he was united in marriage to Margaret A. Patterson at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Wellman. Dave worked at Owens Brush, which later became Oral-B Laboratory, in Iowa City, for 43 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushrooming, and playing cards.

Survivors include his wife, Margi, of Williamsburg; two daughters: Jodi (Dennis) Peer of North Liberty, Tani (Tony) Downs of Katy, TX; daughter-in-law, Carol (Rob) Miles of Dacula, GA; five grandchildren: Mackenzie, Brady, and Julia Downs, and Ryan and Bennett Miles; and his beloved dachshund, Holly.

Preceding Dave in death were his parents, his son Mike, brother Bob, and sister Donna.
