Delmar Glenn Shaffer was born September 6, 1932 in Iowa City, the son of Walter and Edith (Roberts) Shaffer. He graduated from Parnell
High School and served in the United States Army during the KoreanWar. On April 2, 1955 he was united in marriage to Sallie Neff in Virginia, Minnesota. Hap farmed for many years and worked in manufacturing. He was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #17 of Iowa City, the VFW of Iowa City, and the Iowa Rabbit Breeder's Association. Hap enjoyed raising dogs, rabbits and horses, cooking, fishing, and playing with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Sallie of Iowa City, one son, Doug (Sandy) Shaffer of Iowa City, two daughters, Jeanette Shaffer of Riverside, Karen (Mike) Dinnel of Iowa City, 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, a sister, Alverta Williams of Tiffin and one brother, Walter (Betty) Shaffer of Iowa City.
Preceding Hap in death were his parents, one sister, Veva Colony and four brothers, Wayne, Robert, Mervin and Paul.
The family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness and support shown to them at this time of loss. Your love and concern will be cherished always.
