Donzetta Zahs

Donzetta “Zetta” L. (Stewart) Zahs, 65, of Sigourney, formerly of Kalona, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the Keokuk County Hospital in Sigourney. A private family service will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The service will be available via Livestream on the Beatty Peterseim Facebook page.

Donzetta Lee Zahs was born on September 10, 1955, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Donna June Lane. She grew up in the Williamsburg area and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1973. Zetta was united in marriage to Robert Zahs at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church in 1975. The couple had one daughter Callie. They later divorced. Zetta worked retail most of her adult life, her last position being at Dollar General in Kalona until she suffered a stroke three years ago. Zetta enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, and listening and dancing to music.

Survivors include her daughter Callie (Adam) Shalla of Kalona and one sister Becky (Bob) Swartzendruber of Kalona.

Preceding Zetta in death was her mother and three Uncles and one Aunt.
