Dorothy Darlene Logan (1936-2026)
Dorothy Darlene Logan was born to William and Edna (Hochstedler) Logan near Kalona, IA, on June 30, 1936. She lived in the Kalona community until 1963, when her residence changed to Virginia, where she accepted an assignment at Mennonite Broadcasts (now MennoMedia). She was invited to assist in developing the Advancement Department at Eastern Mennonite College (EMU) and later was employed at a local insurance agency. The two church agencies shaped her life and stretched her thinking, acceptance and understanding in many aspects and people. She loved traveling, and piecing and quilting quilts.
She is survived by her best friend, Matilda Yoder, a brother, Marlan J. Logan, two sisters, Margaret A. (Harold) Chapman, and Mary Helen (Nelson) Miller, twelve nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and nephews, and four great-great-nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was interested in each of them.
She is predeceased by her parents, William and Edna Logan, a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Darlene Logan, sister-in-law, Ortrun Logan, and a great-niece, Olivia Marie Miller.
Dorothy passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
