Dorothy B. Reedy-Ruiz, 77, of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Downtown Campus. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Washington. A general memorial fund has been established. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

 

Dorothy Beatrice (Good) Reedy-Ruiz, also known as Sue by many friends and family, was born July 22, 1946, in LaPorte City, IA, the daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Althaus) Good. She earned her GED and attended Southeastern Community College in Burlington. Dorothy was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended meetings at the Kingdom Hall in Washington. She enjoyed sewing, painting, sculpting clay, gardening, and teaching others about the Bible.

 

Survivors include three children: Patrick (Susan) Reedy of Brooklyn, NY, Theresa (Rick) Jones of Wichita Falls, TX, Dawn (Tony) Evans of Crawfordsville, IA; five grandchildren: Sophia Jones, Adrianna (Spencer) Letham, Bethany (Chris) Radtke, Abigail (Zach) Meierotto, Leah (James) Houser; seven great-grandchildren and one more on the way; and three brothers: Bill, Frank and Ted Good.

 

Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband, Tom Reedy, her parents, and one brother Charlie Good.
