Dorothy Stumpf

September 4, 1930 — June 13, 2015

A  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Richmond with Fr. David Brownfield officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Richmond.  Visitation will be Monday, June 15 from 3:00 PM to 7:00PM with prayers at 3:00 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home, Kalona.

Dorothy died Saturday, June 13 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City

Dorothy Stumpf was born September 4, 1930 in Riverside, the daughter of Edward and Edna (Roberts) Muller.  She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Riverside.  She was united in marriage to Richard E. Stumpf Sept 30, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Riverside.

She was employed as a nurses aid, former Wayside Inn, Owens Brush where she retired and a farm wife.  Spending time with the family was an important part of her life.  Playing cards and working puzzles was a pastime she greatly enjoyed.

Dorothy is survived by six children: Cathy (Randy) Kelley of Wellman, Peggy (Gerald) Hammes of Sigourney, Shirley Brown of Wellman, Marilyn Stumpf and John Yoder of Wellman, Harriet (Dwayne) Duwa of Wellman and George (Kristy) Stumpf of Iowa City.  Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, a brother, Paul (JoAnne) Muller of Newton, IA, and sisters-in-law Cecilia Muller and Eugena Stumpf.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, her husband Richard (Nov. 1999), son-in-law Dennis Brown, four brothers Kenneth Muller, Roy Muller, Jack Muller, Robert Muller and one sister, Rosie Rhodes.

Memorial donations may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Masses Intentions.
