Dorothy "Dottie" Fern Yutzy

Dorothy (Dottie) Fern Yutzy, 80, of Coralville, passed away Friday, May 16, 2025, at Lantern Park Care Facility. Her body has been cremated, and a private family celebration of life is planned. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Dorothy Yutzy was born November 20, 1944, in Rapid City, SD, the daughter of Roman and Frances (Gerig) Yutzy. She graduated from Iowa Mennonite School.

Dottie worked for Continental/United Airlines and thoroughly enjoyed her job. She was proud that airplanes always left her gate on time! Her final assignment with the airlines moved her to Alaska where she retired. She liked living in Alaska and attended the Iditarod every year.

During her life she enjoyed traveling around the world and treasured time with her family.

Survivors include her son: David (Toni) Hof, three grandsons, Nick, Josh and Colton Hof and a Great Grandson Wesley Hof, three sisters: Mary Dachtler of Iowa City, Iowa, Linda Stodulski of Hopewell. Virginia, Charity Schlabaugh of Tiffin, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her parents, two sisters: Bert DeHerrera, Lois Bava, and one brother, Nicholas Yutzy, bother in laws, John Dachtler and Robert Stodulski.
