Douglas (Doug) R. Price, 75 of Washington, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his home following a short illness. His body will be cremated, and no services are planned. The Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Doug was born May 29, 1951, in Iowa City, IA, the son of Robert Dean and Mardine Charlotte (Wells) Price. He attended Iowa City High School and was united in marriage to Karen Lang on June 14, 1969, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Doug was employed early on by Sieg, McGurk Meyers Motors, and B&B Auto Parts. He later owned and operated D&K Auto Body in Coralville for many years, specializing in custom cars, street rods, and muscle cars. Doug also owned and operated Paint Pro's, supplying the local body shops with automotive paint and supplies. Doug enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Florida, camping, and drag racing. He even dabbled in skydiving in his younger days. Later in life, you would often find him cruising the backroads in his self-built 1967 Chevy Stepside "Yellow Dog", which brought him much enjoyment. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed spending time with his "grandpets." He was the first to help and would always put others ahead of himself. Survivors include his wife, Karen of Washington, daughter, Michelle Price (Tony Fontinel) of Lone Tree, brothers, Roger (Cheri) Price of Ainsworth, Steve (Julie) Price of Homestead, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dean. |
