Funeral services for Dwane M. Snyder are Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the West Union Mennonite Church, rural Parnell. Pastor Corey Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the West Union Cemetery, rural Parnell.

Visitation is Friday, August 10 at the West Union Mennonite Church from 2-8 PM with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8. A memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice or Mercy Ships.

Dwane Snyder was born September 21, 1937 near Kalona, Iowa, the son of Andrew Grant and Dora Alice Kempf Snyder. He lived with his parents in Colorado Springs, Co. from age 8 to 17 years. Since that time he has lived in the Kalona, Parnell and Williamsburg communities.

On July 31, 1958 he was united in marriage to Annie Irene Schlabach at the Parnell Mennonite Church. Dwane farmed for 17 years and than was employed at United Technologies Automotive in Iowa City in maintenance until retirement. He was a volunteer at Crowded Closet, enjoyed sewing jean comforters and collecting toy tractors.

Dwane is survived by his wife of 54 years, Annie Irene Snyder, five children Larry Leon Snyder and wife Valerie of Parnell, Bernice Marie Marner and husband Michael of Parnell, Beverly Irene Helmuth and husband Marcus of Sarasota, Florida, Earl Dean Snyder and wife Kimberly of Sarasota Florida and Neva Colleen Sperr and husband Randy of Garden Valley, Texas. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandsons and one sister Thelma Gragg of Williamsburg, IA.

Preceding Dwane in death were his parents, a still born son, one grandson, Patrick Marner and an infant brother, Marvin Dean Snyder
