Elaine Meade

October 20, 1942 — October 28, 2017

Elaine M. Meade, 75, of Oxford passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cosgrove with Father Robert Cloos officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery. Vistation will be held at St Peter's church hall on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from 3 – 7 PM with a prayer vigil at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Iowa City Hospice and St. Peter's Catholic Church. Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is assisting with arrangements.

Elaine Margaret (Wagner) Meade was born October 20, 1942, the daughter of Ralph and Grayce (Gorvin) Wagner. She graduated from Oxford High School. On October 18, 1961 she was united in marriage to Loren Meade at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oxford. Elaine worked at the University of Iowa Hospital and at Colony Village in Little Amana. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Loren of Oxford, three children: Bryan Meade, Chris (Bill) Weldon, Renee (Kirk) Madden, eight grandchildren: David and Rachel Meade, Andrea, Joe and Alyssa Weldon, Kyle and Malana Madden and Macy (Zach) Dresser, two great grandsons: Dylan and Dawson Dresser and seven siblings: Marlene Meade, Bob (Mary) Wagner, Joan (Jack) Kahler, Gordon (Leola) Wagner, Jim (Judy) Wagner, Daryl Wagner, Kathy Bender, and a sister-in-law, Thelma Kolar.

Preceding Elaine in death were her parents and one brother, Richard Wagner.
