Evelyn F. Haifley, 96 of Washington, died Saturday, February, 27, 2016 at the McCreedy Home in Washington.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Maureen Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home with family recieving friends from 5-7:00. A memorial to Immanuel Lutheran Church has been established.
Evelyn was born July 8, 1919 in Columbus Junction, Iowa the daughter of Fred Eugene and Mavia (Hamilton) Byers. She attended school in Washington and was united in marriage to Harold Haifley on December 4, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa.
She was a faithful member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and a 55 year member of the womens VFW auxillary. She was employed at Curran, Northrup King and 20 years at McCleery Cumming.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Haifley and friend Priscilla Reighard and Duane Haifley and wife Teresa all of Washington; three grandchildren, Adam, David and Anne Haifley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold June 29, 2002 and a ½ sister Henrietta Booth.
