Harold Miller

A celebration of life for Harold J. Miller, 95, of Wayland will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 11:00AM at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland with Pastors Nathan and Rachelle Luitjens officiating. Private family burial will be held prior to the service. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 2 – 7PM at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church where the family will greet friends from 5 – 7PM. A memorial fund has been established for Sugar Creek Mennonite Church and the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Harold Miller died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Parkview Home in Wayland.

Harold Joseph Miller was born August 24, 1922 in Milford, NE., the son of Joseph William and Elizabeth (Schweitzer)Miller. He was united in marriage to Lela Marie Reeb on June 10, 1945 at the Salem Mennonite Church in Shickley, NE. Harold farmed, raced, raised horses and was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. He enjoyed fishing and loved his kids and grand kids.

Survivors include his wife Lela of Wayland, two sons: Ron (Diana) Miller of Mt. Pleasant, IA. and Jim (Jane) Miller of Wayland, one daughter Sheila (Kevin) Fort of Wayland, IA. and a son-in-law Tom (Jeanette) Benedict of Oceola, IN., six grandchildren: Danielle (Ryan) Ensminger, Chad (Elisha) McMullin, Jessy (Katie) McMullin, Chet (Krista) Fort, Megan (Mike) Ineichen and Timothy Benedict, and 12 great grandchildren

Preceding Harold in death were his parents, one daughter Lila Benedict, three brothers: Milton, Victor, and Wayne Miller and one sister Velma Roth.
