Howard Hardy

A funeral service for Howard H. Hardy, 59, of Riverside, will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Chaplain Maurie Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Iowa City.  Visitation will be held Wednesday prior to the service from 10 - 11 AM at the funeral home.  A memorial fund has been established for the ALS Association.  Howard Hardy died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Mercy Hospice in Iowa City.

Howard Henry Hardy was born September 15, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Howard E. and Dolores (Gaertner) Hardy.  He graduated from Highland High School and received a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Iowa.  Howard worked as a health and safety inspector for the oil industry.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, trapping, gunsmithing and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his fiance' LeAnn Boes of Riverside, his mother Dolores Hardy of Riverside and several cousins of Germany: Horst Gaertner, Kavin Link, Berlind Brinkmann, Ilona and Jane.

Preceding Howard in death was his father on July 2, 2013 and a stillborn sister.
