Ida (Miller) Mullet

February 10, 1925 — November 7, 2016

Funeral services for Ida M. (Miller) Mullet, 91, of Kalona, will be held Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Fairview Conservative Mennonite Church with Pastors Conrad Hertzler, Perry L. Miller and John Hershberger officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8 from 6- 8 pm  and Wednesday November 9 from 1-4 and 6-8 pm. Both visitations will be held at the Fairview Church.  A memorial fund has been established for the Fairview Church and Iowa City Hospice.  Ida Mullet died Monday, November 7, 2016 at Mercy Hospital Hospice in Iowa City.

Ida M. (Gingerich) Mullet was born February 10, 1925 at the family home in Kalona, the daughter of Mahlon J. and Maggie (Miller) Gingerich.  She was united in marriage to Marion W. Miller on October 29, 1946.  After his death she married Simon Mullet on January 1, 1983 at the Fairview Church.  She was a member of the Fairview Church, and enjoyed piecing quilts, gardening and socializing.  Ida's family was very important to her and she cherished time spent with them.  She enjoyed life and was a compassionate, caring person that lived out her faith and spent many hours praying for her family and community.

Survivors include six children and spouses: Nelson (Carol) Miller of Kalona, Melvin (Luann) Miller of Kalona, Morris (Diana) Miller of Riverside, Dale "Bud" (Audrey) Miller of Iowa City, Neva (Luke) Yutzy of Plain City, OH.,  Norma (Steve) Miller of Wellman, 18 grandchilren, 20 great grandchildren, one sister, Pauline Schrock of Kalona, sister-in-law Dorothea Gingerich of Kalona, step children: Gary (Charlene) Mullet of Kansas City, MO., Wanda (Larry) Rediger of Wellman, Letha (Sheldon) Yoder of Kalona, step daughter-in-law Pat (Jerry) Strabala of Washington, step son-in-law Jeff Leach of Kalona, 17 step grandchildren, 45 step great grandchildren and 5 step great great grandchildren.

Preceding Ida in death were her parents, her husband Marion and husband Simon, nine siblings: Katie Mast, Lizzie Gingerich, Ollie Hochstedler, Linus Gingerich, Cora Yoder, Eldora Mast, Maynard Gingerich, Jacob Gingerich and Iva Gingerich and two step children, Dene Mullet and Catherine Leach.
