Obituary

Jeff Lintz, 68, of Kalona, passed from this life on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Parkview Manor in Wellman. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. The service will be available via livestream on the Beatty Peterseim Facebook and YouTube pages. Burial will be held at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery east of Richmond. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 4 – 7 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, where a Rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. A memorial fund has been established for Mid-Prairie Transportation, Sons of Amvets Richmond Post #107 and the Kalona Volunteer Fire Department. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jeff Lintz was born November 6, 1957, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Richard and Shirley (Neuzil) Lintz. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1976 and became a bus driver for the district. Jeff continued in that job for 39 years until retiring in 2015. While there, he served as the Assistant Transportation Director.

He also farmed on the family farm east of Richmond. Jeff was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Washington County Farm Bureau, Sons of Amvets Richmond Post #107, Pheasants Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association, State of Iowa Sheriff’s and Deputies Association, and a longtime member of the Iowa Pupil Transportation Association.

Survivors include two sisters: Lori Lintz of Georgia and Barb (Doug) Colbert of Riverside; two nephews: James (Jenny) Colbert and Matthew Colbert; and great-nephew Colt and Cale Colbert.

Preceding Jeff in death were his parents and his brother Russell.
