John Mehaffy

John Talmage Mehaffy was born in Garland, Iowa on November 7, 1926 and died December 2, 2013. He married Eleanor Burge on June 2, 1948. He farmed and operated an auto parts business in the Morning Sun, Iowa community.
In 1972 he became affiliated with the Living Word through the ministry of John Robert Stevens. In 1995 John and Eleanor retired and moved to Kalona, Iowa.
They have four children: Ellen Johnston of North Hills, CA, Mark (Sally) Mehaffy of Kansas City, MO, Mary Hughes of Kalona, IA, and Karl Mehaffy (deceased).
He has seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Jonathan) Mickelson, Elizabeth (Daniel) Wagner, Emily Johnston, Joshua Mehaffy, John Mark (Carolina) Mehaffy, Paul Park Mehaffy, Andy (Jenni) Hughes and nine great grandchildren, Ethan and Micah Mickelson, Jedidiah and Isaiah Wagner, Nicolas, Emily and Tobias Mehaffy, and Eloise and Everett Hughes.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor on Oct. 13, 2010
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, December 14th at 2:00 PM at Shiloh, Kalona, IA
A time of fellowship will follow the service.
