Kathleen M. (Kinney) Davis, 86, of Washington, formerly of South Dakota, passed from this life on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Halcyon House in Washington. Per her wishes her body has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Memorials in her memory can be directed to the National Braille Press in Boston, Massachusetts. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Kathleen Marie Davis was born July 12, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Charles A. and Patricia M. (McVey) Davis. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy and Clarke College in Dubuque. She earned her master’s degree in education at the University of Minnesota. On June 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Frederick A. Davis in Bettendorf, Iowa. Kathleen was a teacher for 40 years with the Mississippi Bend Area Education Agency. She enjoyed traveling, camping, reading, knitting, and playing Bingo and Cribbage.

Survivors include her brother Charles “Chuck” P. (Mary Ann) Kinney of Tip City, Ohio; cousins Colleen (Larry) Hart of Riverside, Iowa, and their children Montana Hart (and fiancé Lee Payne), and Payton Hart, Brad Moeller of Davenport, Iowa, and Rodney (Melanie) Moeller of Bettendorf, Iowa, and their daughter Kelsey Moeller; and her stepson Christopher (Lori) Davis of Hawaii.

Preceding Kathleen in death were her parents, her husband Frederick and stepson Freddie.
