Kenneth Koch

A celebration of life for Kenneth "Kenny" D. Koch, 63, of Wayland will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington.  Burial will follow at the Wayland Cemetery.  Visiation will be held Friday, August 12, from noon – 8 pm at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with the family present from 5 – 8 pm.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Kenny Koch died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Henry County Health Center from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

Kenneth Dwain Koch was born March 26, 1953 in Sigourney, Iowa, the son of James Harold and Donna Louise (Bradley) Koch.  He attended Tri County High School.  On May 31, 1986 he was united in marriage to Barbara Bishop in What Cheer, Iowa.  Kenny worked as an Ink Technician at McKay Envelopes in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.  He enjoyed playing pool, dragon boat racing, hunting, fishing, bowling, riding his motorcycle, and watching NASCAR, wrestling and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include his wife Barb of Wayland, four children: Ruth (Bill) Gomes of Brighton, IA., Curtis (Amanda) Gomes of Des Moines, IA., Kenneth Koch of Mt. Pleasant, IA., Angela Koch of Wayland, IA., seven grandchildren: Taylor Fluharty, Tim Fluharty, Annie Koch, Carter Gomes, Que'Von Walls, Aiden Gomes, Ann Koch, two great grandchildren: Owen and Everly, five siblings: Rick (Kim) Koch of Deep River, IA., Vicky Hartwig of What Cheer, IA., Sandy (Roger) Clark of Oskaloosa, IA., Patricia (Gary) Hadsell of Tracy, IA., Harold Koch, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, IA and a number of neices and nephews.

Preceding Kenny in death were his parents, an infant brother Harold Allen Koch and a niece, Crystal Hadsell.
