Leonard Francis Rozmus

Leonard F. “Lenny” Rozmus, 62, of Kalona, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at his home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 5 – 7 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Brooklyn, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Golf Course.

Lenny was born February 15, 1964, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of Frank and Jeanne (Carney) Rozmus. He graduated from Alta High School, where he excelled in athletics. Sports remained a staple in Lenny’s life: He spent Saturdays cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, sleeping during Nascar races (“Napcar”, as he liked to call it), and never missed Sunday at the Masters. The game of golf was one of Lenny’s true loves in life. Not a single day passed that he didn’t have the game of golf and his swing on his mind (though he could never truly get that putter dialed in). Lenny was blessed to marry his other love in life, Mary Beth Rozmus (Plagman). Their relationship blessed them with three kids and a lifetime of memories.

Survivors include three children: Nicole (Chris) Sexton of Riverside, Lexy (Zach) Walgren of Riverside, Zach (Chantal) Rozmus of Washington, five grandchildren: Chloe and Casey Sexton, Finn, Oakley, and Collins Walgren, his parents Frank and Jeanne Rozmus of Alta, his sister Jeannie (Jim) Strock of Alta, and his beloved dog Luna.

Preceding Lenny in death was his best friend and brother, Jeff, in 2018.
